Export volumes tripled in 10 years
Export of Polish mushrooms continues to grow

The export of Polish mushrooms in 2015 was 207 thousand tonnes with a value of 308 million Euro. This comes down to a growth over 2.4 times more in amount and 3 times more in value compared to 2004.

The two largest producers in Europe in the area of mushrooms are Poland and the Netherlands. Poland exports 70 percent of the total mushroom production, whereas the Netherlands exports three quarters of the production. Of this Polish export 90 percent goes to European countries, Germany, Great Britain and France in particular, which is similar to the Netherlands. The export of Polish mushrooms to Russia was around 70 thousand tonnes per year. The high EU export is easy to explain: due to the import ban on fruit and vegetables Russia isn't buying mushrooms and they end up on the European market. The largest non EU buyer of mushrooms is Belarus.
